Please join the Historical Society on Wednesday, October 10th for Ambitious Failure: Chain Bridge, The First Bridge Across the Potomac River, presented by Carole Herrick. Since 1797, eight bridges have spanned the Potomac River near the Little Falls, linking the District of Columbia with Virginia. The presentation will take the audience through a discussion of the first six bridges built at that location, culminating with the American Civil War.
Joyce Trickett, a longtime member of the Great Falls Historical Society, has passed away. Joyce was a loyal member of the Society, and many other organizations in Great Falls. She loved her Brethren Church, she gave so much love and support on behalf of her Church. Joyce’s life was a wonderful example of dedication to others. Joyce will be greatly missed.
